Fall

The mountains turn to reds and golds, and the weather starts to cool down, making the fall one of the most beautiful times of the year. Every September locals and visitors alike enjoy the concerts at the Folk School, plays performed by the Licklog Players at the Peacock Playhouse, or a beautiful evening ride on Lake Chatuge.

October brings the fall Mountain Adventure Artist’s Studio Tour, which is a self-guided tour of artists in Clay and Cherokee Counties. It is held in the middle of October so you can enjoy the fall leaves while traveling from studio to studio. The tour in Clay County includes Goldhagen Glass Blowing Studio, St. Pierre Wood Pottery, and John Crawford woodworker along with others in the region.
